We at Troutbeck Inn are proud to have been part of the tourism scene in Zimbabwe for more than 45 years. The log fire in the reception area of hotel is a firm favourite, and guests from across the world enjoy the gentrified “country club” atmosphere of this premium destination in Nyanga, Zimbabwe.
The Hare and Hound is Troutbeck Inn’s snug bar with glowing log fire, ideal for a pre-dinner drink. If books, cream scones and tea are more to your liking, you’ll find the Residence Sun Lounge at the Troutbeck Inn simply irresistible with its comfortable couches and fireplace. The Residence Sun Lounge also offers a bar service and snack menu. The garden at the Troutbeck Inn, Nyanga, Zimbabwe, is the perfect venue for a lovely picnic – with the delicious baskets provided by the kitchen, you will not want for more. If you want to go on a day excursion, the kitchen staff will be happy to provide a packed breakfast and lunch.
Our guests are accommodated in 70 beautifully styled rooms, with a number of options ranging from king-size beds, or double or twin beds. Disabled guests are well looked after, and for the travelling family, there is also a family suite at the Troutbeck Inn in. All rooms offer en-suite bathroom, hairdryer, tea/coffee-making facilities, satellite TV, oil heaters and air-conditioning, as well as telephone.
Our Beck Restaurant offers superb dining for up to 160 guests and overlooks the manicured gardens of the Troutbeck Inn. During the summer months in Nyanga, guests love to enjoy their meals on the outside terrace overlooking the magnificent golf course.
You will be forgiven if you had thought Troutbeck Inn to be in the Scottish Highlands, rather than in the Nyanga moutains of Zimbabwe. The majestic Mount Inyangani of 2600 m is in close proximity of the Troutbeck Inn, located on the cooler Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe near Nyanga, only three hours’ drive from Harare.
The Troutbeck Inn offers something for everybody: from those enjoying the outdoors, to the bookworms preferring to sink back into a soft couch and catch up on their reading. We offer trout fishing and golf as well as squash courts, tennis courts, bowling, volley ball and a swimming pool. Guests can also hike in the Nyanga mountains or enjoy horse riding, or visit the nearby Mtazari Falls, Nyamziwa Falls, Nyangombe Falls, World’s View and Eagle’s View.
If you want to try your hand at trout fishing in the well-stocked lake with three types of trout, you must provide your own fishing tackle. Once you have managed to land that prize specimen our kitchen staff will be happy to expertly prepare your catch. Other facilities offered at the Troutbeck Inn, include a games room (with board games, darts, billiards and table tennis), outside kiddies playground, shop, as well as laundry and baby sitting services.
OTHER ZIMBABWE LODGES
A good place to start your Zimbabwe holiday would be Victoria Falls. There are a few hotels, but A'Zambezi River Lodge is the only hotel on the banks of the Zambezi River, a few kilometers upstream from the falls themselves. This is, like Troutbeck Inn, a luxury hotel with a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
Your next stop could be Hwange Safari Lodge at Hwange National Park. This is one of Troutbeck Inn's sister lodges and therefore of the same high standard.
If you depart from Troutbeck Resort, you will most likely want to visit the Great Zimbabwe Monument, which was previously known as the Zimbabwe Ruins. From the Lodge at the Ancient City, you can see the ruins that are now known as the Great Zimbabwe Monument.
It is also possible to drive from Troutbeck Inn Resort in Nyanga to Matobo Hills National Park, which is an equally beautiful park. The Granite Ridge was previously known as The Farmhouse and is surrounded by the famous rock formations and beautiful scenery of the park.
BOTSWANA HOTELS
Perhaps you would like to visit Botswana before going to Zimbabwe and the Eastern Highlands. In Botswana, the Okavango Delta will certainly be the highlight of your visit. Stay a few nights at Drotsky's Cabins or one of their sister lodges. Birding around Shakawe is magnificent, and you are guaranteed to see a great variety of birdlife. Drotsky's is near Shakawe on the banks of the Okavango Delta. Xaro Lodge is the sister lodge of this beautiful family-owned accommodation.
Senyati Safari Camp is near the Chobe Game Reserve in Kasane, Botswana. Senyati Safari Lodge offers both camping and self-catering (self-contained) accommodation.
